After Jesus had rose again from the dead Mary was crying outside of the tomb.
“Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”
Thinking he was the gardener, she said,
“Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).
John 18:13-16
She looked up and as soon as heard her name she knew it was Jesus. She clung to him.
This picture reflects my story and the experience of many other people and I would even venture to say all other people.
1 John 3:19 says, We love because he first loved us.
She didn’t recognize Jesus until He called her name. He called her name out of the distress, sadness and grief. She ran and clung to him with joy and peace. In the same way He called my name out of my brokenness, out of my heartache out of my pain, out of a life of sin- He called me personally by name and He redeemed me. He knows each of our names and he knows our hearts, He knows our needs, and He knows our desires.
However, He is still unrecognizable to many people, Many people have yet to hear their name being called. But if you’re reading this today and you’re wondering if salvation is for you if the message about a risen Savior is for you, I’m here to tell you that it is.
For the joy set before him he scorned death, died on the cross and rose again three days later, so that all who believe could come into His everlasting life and join in His resurrection. Although we die an earthly death it will be a death unto life because we will forever be able to live with him in glory, in Paradise without pain, sorrow or suffering. He says he will wipe every tear from our eyes. Revelation 21:4
Who the Son sets free is free indeed, so listen for His call. That small voice on the inside of you that might be reading this and asking is He calling my name?
I’m here to assure you that He is. As soon as you hear your name and recognize His voice you can run to Him and cling to him. He says my sheep know me and hear my voice. John 10:27
“He called my name and I ran out of that grave, Out of the darkness into your glorious day!!”
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9 NIV
Happy Easter! He is risen!
The Lord Bless you and Keep you,
