Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Hebrews 9:28
The words It is finished were actually the very beginning. The beginning of the rest of eternity for all who would put their faith and hope inJesus. The beginning of the countdown to His resurrection from the dead and then second coming. The beginning of the gospel-the good news. The beginning of Christianity. The beginning of my life. Jesus death on a cross has changed the trajectory of countless lives and generations of people who would be able to receive the free gift of salvation and forgiveness of sins.
The sacrifice was complete on the cross and three days later He rose, but I want to take today, Good Friday, to remember His completed sacrifice.
Many in this world and society continue to mock Jesus, spit on and sarcastically laugh and jeer at the idea of a need for a Savior. They dismiss anyone who says Jesus is King. They have thrown out the truth of this event and the gift of salvation.
And the response Jesus has to this mockery is “Father forgive them, they know not what they do”.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Thank you Jesus for being the perfect sacrifice that Good Friday 2021 years ago. It changed my life.
